We Are OFK takes the struggles of younger generations and turns them into a storytelling masterstroke that'll constantly tug at the player's emotions. We Are OFK completely flips the script on what's acceptable to put out to not-so-subtly advertise an upcoming product by focusing more on an engaging, heartfelt story. It's not often that such in-your-face product placement turns out to be anything but unappealing. Focused on teamwork, compassion, and empathy, We Are OFK offers strong messages of overcoming personal adversity to become a better person and of friends combining skills to reach a difficult goal, with all core characters stepping up to be their best selves. The main narrative contains diverse characters of varying cultures, ethnicities, and sexual orientations, respectfully and tastefully representing and prioritizing different walks of life. The core of the game is all about promoting an up-and-coming actual virtual band and their music, featuring interactive music videos that may inspire players to seek or purchase more of their music. The controls are very simple, only requiring players to make the occasional dialogue-based choice. Though there's no nudity, there are plenty of sexual references and romantic intentions stated, including a few scenes that take place after two characters have been intimate (though no suggestive things are heard or seen). Occasionally, characters drink heavily to blow off steam, leading to intoxication and mild recklessness.
